New project approved!

We are proud to announce the approval of a new project called Breaking the cycle!

Breaking the cycle aims to interrupt the generational cycle of educational discrimination against young people in disadvantaged situations. Specifically, the target are youngsters (15-19 years old), coming from difficult backgrounds who are keen to drop out of school.

Developia will cooperate on the development of this project with other partners from Sweden (KC Kompetenscenter Idéburen sektor) and  Greece (I.KORMA and THEODOROS TSANAKAS MARIA KOIMISOGLOU KDVM OE).

The main priority is to promote active citizenship, young people’s sense of initiative, and youth entrepreneurship including social entrepreneurship. All the partners are specialized in these fields and they will use their vast experience to promote engaging activities through a non-formal education and learner-centered approach. Five teenagers from every partner country and at least ten adult educators will have the chance to actively participate in the project, not to mention that also government agencies and social services will be involved t during the project’s lifecycle.

In pursuing these goals, it is expected that by the end of the project, educators will have acquired more skills in the area of non formal education, and that the level of school dropout will decrease among the students thanks to their involvement in the proposed initiatives and the promotion of a safe environment in which they can continue with their studies.

In conclusion, Breaking the cycle will provide an innovative model that can foster the growth of strategic hard and soft skills to support young people’s entry into the workforce and entrepreneurship in accordance with the European 2021-2027 program. Materials will be made available for those interested in bringing this initiative to their community as well.

More information on this new project will be published very soon!
