PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The aim of the project is to empower young people in their pursuit of successful businesses in the tourism sector in rural areas. The project improves the skills of interested young people, including NEETs (not in education, employment and training) and young professionals in sustainable practices, finance and entrepreneurship.
YOU SMILE prioritises coherence with the environmental objectives of the Green Deal and recognises their role in supporting the transition towards a climate neutral Europe. Young people are recognised as agents of change in the context of sustainable tourism, which is seen as a strategic sector for growth and employment.
OBJECTIVES:
The main objective of the project is to empower young people aged 18-30 in their pursuit of sustainable and financially viable micro and small enterprises within the rural tourism services sector.
In addition, the project aims to foster the personal and professional development of young people, increase their employability and improve sustainable tourism services for stakeholders.
ACTIVITIES:
YOU SMILE project aims at addressing the above by :
- Project management and implementation activities
- 5 Living labs in each partner country
- Development and implementation of online courses
- Staff and youth training activities
- Three partner meetings in Slovenia, France and Spain
EXPECTED RESULTS
- Encompass mobility and training opportunities that enable interaction, knowledge sharing and peer-to-peer learning
- Create and disseminate learning activities through platforms such as YouTube and social networks
- Increase skills in sustainable tourism services, improve language skills and cultural competences, and motivate young people for new ‘green jobs’
